Kevin Blackistone
Biography
Kevin Blackistone is an intermedia artist exploring uses & impacts of technology and data. He works using backgrounds in 3d animation, video, sound design and creative coding. As a intramural research fellow with the National Institute of Health, Section of Comparative Behavioral Genomics (U.S., 2012-2014) he further developed his coding and research skills and uses this knowledge to inform his present works. He has received production awards for prior works from the Johns Hopkins Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund (Who’s Watching), Ruby’s Arts Awards (Extensions of the Self), and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts (Radiant Flux).
Kevin received his degree in Intermedia and Digital Arts from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2000 and is currently pursuing masters in the Interface Cultures and the Post Digital Lutherie programs at Kunstuniversität Linz.
