Silvana Malaver is a multidisciplinary artist and Ph.D student at the Graduate School of Media Design, Keio University, Yokohama, Japan. Her research and creative process mainly focus on exploring how to produce altered states of consciousness through diverse media artworks, from poetry and essay-films to interactive installations. She Majored in Literature at Universidad de Los Andes, Bogota, Colombia, and obtained a Master in Japanese Culture at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Saitama University, Saitama, Japan, where she specialized in Buddhism and Media Art. At Keio Media Design she is part of the project "Geist" ("mind" or "spirit" in German) that works on augmenting human capacities by combining cognitive science, psychology, and technology.
